A blue clay court? What’s next, blue grass at Wimbledon?

If you have not been paying attention, you may like to know that the new colour of a clay court is blue!

Seeing red?

Certainly, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic did. Both have vowed not to return to the Mutua Madrid Open after early exits from the tournament where they played in the finals the previous year.  If they ever choose to go with blue grass at Wimbledon, I do have a recommendation for a theme song: Grass is blue!

I found it odd that this controversy preceded the week when both the second-ranked Federer and the third-ranked Nadal made Forbes’s list of the world’s most influential celebrities, with $52 million and $33 million in annual earnings respectively. Coming on the heels of my recent blog about the squash prize money for men and women going up to a combined all-time high of $185K, I am not sweating this one!

Completely off-topic, I came across these training videos by Brent Abel that provide an analytic approach to the various shots involved in a tennis game. I have only reviewed a few; the ones I watched made sense.  Let me know what you think.
