It takes around 25 minutes to cover the 10.5 km winding, scenic drive from Fira to Oia. Buses, taxis, and ATVs are typical options.

Whitewashed houses and cliff-top hotels are familiar sights of Oia, Santorini. It is worth noting that many hotels do not have vehicle access.

The caldera is a massive volcanic crater that is surrounded by towering cliffs. The caldera provides a stunning backdrop to Santorini Island and is its biggest attraction.

The iconic white buildings adorned with brilliant blue domes in Oia, Santorini, create a mesmerizing contrast against the deep blue Aegean Sea and the clear sky.

The use of donkeys for transportation is a traditional practice in Oia & Fira. However, concerns for the welfare of the donkeys have been driving down their use as a mode of transportation.

Oia is mostly a pedestrian village with narrow alleys and walkways that offer unique shopping and dining experiences. Shopping options include luxury brands, art galleries, and souvenir shops.

Depending on the season, Oia can get hot and crowded. Be prepared for a sweaty walk since the main walkways between the stores and restaurants are not covered.

The picturesque fishing port located below Oia, offers waterfront restaurants, boat tours, swimming, and other water-related activities.

The sunset in Oia is a major attraction of Santorini.   As the sun sets, the atmosphere becomes lively and romantic, and people look for prime seats in bars and restaurants to celebrate the end of the day.

You can find many fine-dining options in Oia. Oia Gefsis, a restaurant located in a renovated 19th-century Cycladic captain's house, offers great food and the views to go with it.
