NOBIS HOTEL

A Racquet Social Review

STOCKHOLM

The contemporary luxury hotel is located at Norrmalmstorg Square. You can take the Arlanda Express from the airport to Stockholm Central Station and cab it to the hotel 2 km away.

The lobby of the hotel is small. It has unique light fixtures and windows that look out into the street. You can view your Uber ride pull up before stepping out into the cold.

The lounge adjoining the lobby is a great place to meet someone and make plans for the day. It is spacious and tastefully decorated, making it an ideal area to work, read, or enjoy a cup of coffee

The lounge at the Nobis Hotel features a high cathedral-like ceiling that gives it a grand atrium feel.

The "Small Double" room which I had booked turned out to be smaller than expected and did not include a coffeemaker. Bring your 110V power adapter. The hotel does not offer adapters for temporary use.

You cannot beat the Nobis Hotel's location. You step out of the hotel into a busy square that is minutes away from many of the city's attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

NOI, the primary restaurant, has a Scandinavian design, and offers a menu that draws on international influences. As with most upscale Swedish restaurants, the food is tastey but pricey.

The buffet breakfast, included in the room rate, is served in Restaurant NOI. Across from the main lobby, you will find Bino a bistro-style restaurant that offers stews, pastas, and sausages.

The Gold Bar

Adjacent to the lounge, you will find the hotel's stylish bar decorated in gold and black hues. It's an intimate venue where you can enjoy a pre or post-dinner cocktail.

The 24/7 gym at Nobis Hotel is equipped with essential training equipment and includes a steam room and a dry sauna. You will find the hotel's gym a useful feature.

The Gym

A short walk from the hotel will get you to  Bibliotekstan, the Fashion District of Stockholm. You can shop for international luxury brands here or just window shop.

Also within walking distance of the hotel is the Nationalmuseum of Stockholm. You can admire the historic buildings on both sides of the canals as you walk from the hotel to the museum.

Check out The Östermalm Saluhall (food market) located close to the hotel. It is known for its high-quality produce, fish, and meat. You will find affordable food options here.

The Good: Great Location, Friendly staff, Decent food, Marriott Bonvoy points. The not so good: Very little luggage space, No coffee maker, No 110V adapter for temporary use.
