If you stay around the Waikiki area, you may wake up to a view like this. Waikiki is where the urban action is in Hawaii.

I stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki.  It is centrally located and is close to many of Honolulu's attractions

Located on the south shore of Honolulu, Waikiki is Oahu's most famous beach. It is popular among surfers.

The patio of the RumFire Bar at the Sheratin is beach-facing and is a great place to hangout and people watch.

Moana Surfrider

The first hotel in Waikiki is now part of the Marriott Group. It offers access to the beach and is located in the heart of Waikiki.

The Indian banyan tree in the courtyard of the Moana is over a hundred years old and a historic legend.

If partying and nightlife are part of your Hawaii travel plans, you can find plenty of it in Honolulu.

From pokes to acai bowls to loco mocos, Honolulu's food scene is multi-ethnic, diverse, and caters to all budgets.

Rum-based cocktails are the norm for tourists. Maitai, Blue Hawaii, and Kona Coffee Martninis are popular.

There is one on every corner.  From food to knick-knacks to alcohol,  you can find it at the  ABC stores.

If bargain stores are not your thing, you can go upsacle.  Just stroll over to the Luxuxry Row on Kalakaua Avenue.
