Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Kyoto. It takes just over two hours to cover ~500 Kms.

The Inari (deity) at this shrine is considered the God of rice, agriculture, and commerce.

The Torii gates at Fushimi Inari taisha is one of the most recognized images of Kyoto.

Kiyomizu-dera

Known as the 'Temple of the Pure Water Spring," the Buddhist temple is famous for its three-storey viewing platform.

Kinkaku-ji Temple

The gold-covered Zen Buddhist temple dates back to the 14th century and has survived multiple disasters and fires.

The palace grounds and the gardens are open to the public. Only authorized personnel are allowed inside the palace.
