Glasgow is around 50 miles from Edinburgh. I visited both cities.

The tramway runs between Edinburgh airport and New Town in the city. Buses operate 24X7 and cover a wider area.

It is the second-largest monument in the world, dedicated to a writer. 

Open since 1859, the gallery is home to Scottish and international collection of fine art.

With Edinburgh Castle on one end and Holyrood Palace on the other, the Royal Mile is touristy.

Over the years, the castle has been used as a royal residence, military garrison, prison, and fortress.

The Hub

Swing by "The Hub" at the centre of  Edinburgh. You may catch an event.

Walk Around New Town

Check out the shopping and eateries on George Street and Princes Street.

It is scotch whisky! Surprisingly, I did not find any bargain prices on scotch whiskys.

Venture out of the city

Stirling Castle is an hour away from Edinburgh.
