What To See and Do On a Short Trip to  San Francisco

Whether you are stopping over in the city or squeezing in visits to landmarks between business meetings, you can see and do a lot on a short trip to San Francisco.

Union Square

Start with Union Square to get a feel for the city’s vibe. Grab a coffee, chill for a few minutes, and people-watch.

Step into Nordstrom on Market Street near Union Square. You can shop, or just simply admire the decor.

Museum Of Modern Art

MOMASF holds a collection of modern and contemperory art, painting, sculptures, and other artifacts.

Take in sights such as the San Francisco  City Hall located in the Civic Center.

Lombard Street

Chek out the the most crooked street in the world. You can drive on it or, just walk it.

Catch a cable car at one of the manual turn-around points. The Powell and Market car takes you to the Fisherman's Wharf area. 

Waverly Place is one of the most visited streets in Chinatown.  It is home to many temples and Chinese benevolent associations.

Take a break at the Ferry Building in Embarcadero. It is a popular foodie destination.

The Port of San Francisco covers 7.5 miles of waterfront and handles over 100 cruise ships every year.

Pier 39

Pier 39 is very touristy. You will find shopping, entertainment, video arcades, and food stalls here.

Fisherman’s Wharf

 The wharf on the northern waterfront, is one of the city's busiest tourist destinations and great for souvenirs and seafood.

Ghirardelli Square

Ghirardelli Square may have lost some of its charm. But, it is still popular with tourists.

You don't go to San Francisco and not see the Golden Gate Bridge. It is one of the most recognized symbols of the city.

Take a stroll along the Embarcadero boulevard that runs along the waterfront. 

Made famous through TV shows and movies, the unique homes with their dramatic windows and decorated rooflines still attract tourists.
